// for regulated and confidential work

Dictation for work that can't touch a server.

If what you say is privileged, protected, or under an NDA, sending it to a dictation company's cloud is a problem you shouldn't have to think about. Hushbird transcribes your voice and reads text back to you entirely on your Mac. There is no server to send it to.

Launch price. $39.99 through September 1, 2026, then $79.99.

Most dictation apps upload your voice. That's the whole issue.

Wispr Flow, Speechify, and most of the popular tools do the transcription on their servers, which means every sentence you speak leaves your machine. For casual use that is fine. For a legal matter, a therapy note, a patient encounter, or a source's name, it is a third party you now have to trust, vet, and often contract with.

Hushbird removes the question by removing the server. The speech models run on your Mac's own chip. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and it keeps working with the network off.

Who this is for

Law

Attorneys under privilege

Draft memos, notes, and correspondence by voice without routing privileged content through a vendor's cloud.

Health

Therapists and physicians

Write session notes and clinical documentation on-device, so protected health information stays on your Mac.

Journalism

Reporters and researchers

Capture notes and source details without a third party holding a copy of what you said.

Business

Anyone under an NDA

Product plans, deal terms, board notes: dictate them without an upload you'd have to disclose.

Modes for this work

It already writes the way your work needs.

Hushbird picks how to write from the app you are in: email like email, chat like chat. For work that spans a brief, an email and a browser, pin a mode instead and it stays until you lift it.

Legal

Complete, formal sentences. No contractions. Party names, defined terms and citations are left exactly as you said them, not tidied into something that reads better and means something else.

Financial

Figures as digits, with currency symbols and percent signs. It never rounds, restates or converts a number. Ticker symbols and account references stay as spoken.

Verbatim

Nothing is rewritten. No polish, no reformatted numbers, no cleanup pass at all, exactly what you said, for anything that will be relied on. Your own dictionary still applies, because that only ever spells the terms you entered yourself.

A word on what Hushbird is not. It is a dictation tool, not a scribe. It does not listen to your sessions, record other people, or sit in the room. You speak your own note, as you would into a handheld recorder, and it types it. There is also no medical mode: the speech model is general-purpose, and a general model can substitute one real drug name for a similar-sounding one. Labelling that as a clinical feature would be dishonest. Verbatim plus your own dictionary is the offer, and every transcript is still yours to check.

And it reads back to you, too

Select a contract clause, a chart note, or a long email and Hushbird reads it aloud in a natural voice, generated on your Mac. Reviewing by ear catches what rereading misses, and it never leaves the device either.

// Honest note: Hushbird is a tool, not a compliance program, and this is not legal advice. What it gives you is an architecture where the sensitive data simply never leaves your Mac, which is the part most cloud dictation tools cannot offer. Check your own obligations; we are happy to answer technical questions at support@hushbird.app. Requires an Apple Silicon Mac. $39.99 once, 7-day full trial, no card.
